Softail frames: Popularized by Harley in the early 80''''s, the softail frame was wildly successful for the motor company to the point they couldn''''t keep ''''em in stock. Still the most popular frame design for custom motorcycle builders due to the "hardtail" look but with underneath horizontally mounted rear shocks.

FXR frames: One of the best frame designs ever produced, the FXR is great for handling and long distance riding.
